Noise can be a real nuisance. Whether it originates from road traffic, aircraft, construction works or city centre living, it really can have a large impact on your living or working conditions.
Every building is subject to varying types of acoustic intrusion and no two buildings are the same. Owning a listed building has restrictions with regards to what you can and can't do with the original windows and standard double glazing (if ever allowed) is not always a suitable or cost effective solution for noise insulation.
Adding an additional layer of Storm bespoke secondary glazing to a primary window, will vastly improve the noise reduction to your building.
In a carefully-controlled test, using only a 40mm air gap (our standard fit) and 4mm toughened glass, our system provided a reduction of 40dBA. In real terms the result is a noise reduction of more than twice that of double glazing (Fig 1).
